Amidst a fractured immigration climate in the US, Yves — a Congolese refugee and newly naturalized American citizen — puts down roots in Dallas, Texas. While discovering his new homeland with his wife, Gretchen, he recounts his story as a child who, after fleeing war in Africa, finds refuge in an elaborate imaginary world.

Can he find safe passage to the United States and realize his American Dream?

A luminous pioneer story for everyone trying to find home.
